PTOLEMAIC KINGS OF EGYPT. Cleopatra III & Ptolemy IX Soter II (Lathyros), 116-107 BC. AE (Bronze, 33 mm, 17.79 g, 12 h), Alexandria (?), RY 4 = 114/3. Diademed head of Zeus Ammon to right, with ram's horn in his hair and over the diadem; to left, monogram of P and K. Rev. ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ [ΠΤΟ]ΛΕΜΑΙΟΥ Eagle with closed wings standing left on thunderbolt; to left, Ω above Σ; to right, [L Δ]. SNG Copenhagen 526 ('Ptolemy V, uncertain mint in Phoenicia'). Svoronos 1193 ('Ptolemy IV, uncertain mint in Cyprus'). Very rare. Minor doubling on the obverse and with light scratches on the reverse, otherwise, nearly very fine.
